Eventure festival

Run, RIDE, walk + MUSIC

Eventure Festival is a unique amalgamation of the already popular BagYard Ultra running event, cycling day rides, walking, Yoga and other activities alongside the magic of live music.

Whether your goal is to RUN further than you have before, RIDE solo or guided around the stunning countryside, race timed laps of a field circuit on your mountain bike, WALK to take in amazing scenery and landmarks, immerse yourself in YOGA meditation or listen to live MUSIC and DJs, Eventure Festival is fun for all abilities and all ages.

Most events are all about the start line and the photo of everybody about to set off.  Eventure is all about the end – events are staggered to finish within a short window in readiness for celebrating collectively in a music festival environment with food and a full bar on tap.

As sociable creatures who love a post event de-brief, Eventure strives to be inclusive, bringing like-minded participants together to share their experiences, knowledge and love of running, cycling, walking and music.

The run distances of BagYard Ultra | 100 miles | 50 miles | 26.2 miles | 13.1 miles | 8.2 miles | 4.1 miles are all based on the back yard format consisting of a 4.167 mile loop that runners must complete within an hour.

For distances beyond one lap, runners must be back in the Start Carroll and on the start line on the hour to start the next lap.  Eventure also includes a 1.2 mile FUN RUN

Tick off the milestone distances of 100 miles and 100 km on flat courses around Somerset, or spin your legs over 25 miles and be back in time to enjoy the evenings’ festivities.  The guided options for 100km and 25 miles add fun and camaraderie to your ‘eventure’ without needing to navigate!

Join the 11.5 mile guided walk lead by Caroline Dredge taking in some iconic Somerset landmarks or simply complete a lap (or two) of the classic 4.167 mile loop the runners are taking on.  Either way, know that your participation is transforming children’s lives around the world through Education!

“Run, Ride, Walk and Party with a moral purpose to make a difference to disadvantaged children all over the world – that was the primary objectives of the committee that make up the team here at Eventure Festival. As passionate ultra-runners, triathletes and cyclists our second goal was to create an inclusive environment that brings like-minded athletes of all ages, abilities and disciplines together within one event.  Inspiration doesn’t always have to come from the elite and from Eventure Festival, we hope to create an experience that can can ignite participation and challenge people to go that little bit further or faster to achieve their goals.”

School in a Bag

Eventure Festival is organised and run by School in a Bag Trading Ltd, a wholly owned trading subsidiary of the charity School in a Bag (1186357). All profits made by School in a Bag Trading Ltd are reinvested back into the charity’s work.

School in a Bag was a project born out of the Piers Simon Appeal, a charity set up in memory of Piers who tragically died in the Indian Ocean Tsunami in 2004. Piers was a keen runner and triathlete so Eventure is an event he would have fully embraced.

School in a Bag provides bright red rucksacks full of essential resources that enable poor, orphan, vulnerable and disaster affected children worldwide to write, draw, colour, calculate, express themselves, eat, drink, wash and above all, learn. To date, over 143,000 SchoolBags have been distributed to children in 54 countries.  The cost to fund a numbered, trackable SchoolBag is £20.00.

*Eventure is aimed at mass participation and events have been priced competitively to reflect this.  However, we LOVE participants who fundraise so you can claim a refund of half of your ticket price once you have raised a minimum of £60.00 on your fundraising page – the cost of x3 SchoolBags.
